After reading the reviews, we thought we'd give this place a go. My partner and I visited Borruso's. We came in at midday. It was pleasant. The seats were comfortable. The table was secure. What was great was that they had a vegan, plant-based menu. The staff were professional, swift and friendly. We ordered the Cauliflower Tandoori and the Vegetarian pizzas. It did not take very long to arrive. The crust was cooked perfectly. I loved the cauliflower pizza. It had a sweet tandoori taste, with a nice sour cream sauce. The cauliflower and firm veggies were balanced nicely. The vegetarian pizza had the lovely flavours of artichokes, tomato sauce, olives, onions & vegs. The pizzas were easy to eat, flavourful, and had the right amount of veggies. The pizza was not soggy or burnt, but crisp, and not too hot. It was great to have salt and pepper to season our pizza, because we use seasoning a lot. The Italian traditional pizza crust was not overcooked, just right. These two vegan pizzas were delicious. Both my partner and I were pleasantly surprised. We are both looking forward to trying the other two pizzas, the potato and the spicy vegan mince, next. The pizzas were large in size. Our meal and mineral waters were good value for money. Unfortunately, we did not have the baked cheesecake, but were offered a flambe dessert. We will try the cheesecake, hopefully next time we visit. I highly recommend this place for the high-quality ingredients and the marvellous flavours of our pizza. The chef did an excellent job. I am very fussy about food, given that I have been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years. I am thrilled we came here. I look forward to coming back again

A great Italian restaurant in the heart of Crows Nest. The food was excellent, and I would highly recommend it. The staff were friendly and attentive, and in particular Avinid who provided a very warm and professional service, which added to the overall experience

Love coming here as the food is delicious and the location is in such a vibrant precinct. Would highly recommend trying the Puttanesca pasta with a bit of added chilli! :D

great place. decent amount of vegan choices. got gnocchi and pesto pasta both were fabulous. the vegan caramelized onion appetizer was just as good. we ended up in the back right next to a small kitchen area where we could watch the cook cooking. shout out to him. he was killing it and even asked if we were ready for our mains and ended up bringing them out to us when they were done. we both wanted to say thank you to him before we left but didn’t see him as we left so thank you chef!

Solid comfort food on all fronts. The halloumi, the garlic prawns, the pizza, and the pasta were all satisfying.

We had lunch at Borruso’s Crows Nest on Sunday and walked out grinning. The pizza? Outstanding—crisp base, rich tomato flavour, and generous toppings (the kind that vanish quicker than birthday cake at a kids’ party). Suman was a legend—polite, friendly, and attentive without fuss. Nothing fancy, just genuine hospitality and great food. If happiness had a flavour, it’d taste like that pizza. Thanks, Borruso’s—we’ll definitely be back. One small tip: the air‑conditioning could’ve worked a bit harder—it was a scorcher on Sunday!

I had best spot in the restaurant which allowed me to watch how each dishes was made. Fantastic experience to see my mushrooms getting fried and cooked with spaghetti, and served on my table. Tasted amazing, only did the review after the third visit, (should have done it on my first visit) short walk from metro station. Extra mushrooms for me!
